Our mission is to help people living better & longer by connecting them with amazing cooks in their neighborhood

It all started there
It all began on a Monday evening.
I walked into the kitchen, tired from a long day of work, the stress of rushing through an hour on the subway to pick up my son on time from school, already thinking about the quantity of homework we got to process, and all while knowing I still had to cook.
It was 7:15 pm, and I opened the fridge. The light illuminated… almost nothing. Just a lonely carrot, a half-empty carton of eggs, and some wilting lettuce.
I stared at it for several minutes.
My mind raced: What can I cook? Do I have time to go to the store? Can I even muster the energy to chop, sauté, and clean afterward?
The easy choice whispered: delivery. Burger? Pizza? Something quick. But the thought of cold pizza or greasy takeout left me with a pang of guilt.
I wanted something healthy on the table with my kid. Something real. Something homemade. But who had the time?
That’s when it hit me: why is it so easy to get a private driver, but not a private cook ?
That question sparked MonCuisinierPrive.fr
I wanted to create:
- A private chef ready to come to your home, booked in just a few clicks.
- Delicious, balanced meals made with fresh, seasonal, and quality raw ingredients.
- Weekly menus that fill your fridge with real food, so you never have to worry about dinner again.
- A model that cares equally for our chefs and our clients.
- A mission: to make homemade food accessible to everyone, every day.
It all started here.
A Broken Food System
The more I looked into it, the clearer it became: our food system is broken. Convenience and speed have triumphed over nutrition and care. Families, busy professionals, and seniors face a daily choice: sacrifice health or sacrifice time.
"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food" was saying Hippocrates about 400 before JC. (As well as Steve Jobs more recently.)
- Ultra-processed foods now supply 27% of Europeans’ daily calories, sometimes up to 40%, fueling obesity, diabetes, and heart disease (European Journal of Nutrition)
- Fast-food in France grew from $32.7 billion in 2021 to an expected $45 billion by 2028 (Grand View Horizon). Kids are growing up knowing pizza and fries, but not fresh, home-cooked meals
- Cooking time has dropped, in France from 1986 to 2010 the average time per day to cook dropped from 71 min to 53 min (INSEE)
- Result ? Obesity triple in all European countries in just 40 years (WHO Global Health Observatory)
Globally, unhealthy diets now lead to more than 12 million avoidable deaths per year—almost one in four adult deaths (Global Nutrition Report - 2018 data), and in Europe, overweight and obesity are responsible for over 1.2 million deaths annually, accounting for more than 13% of total deaths in the European Region (World Health Organization - WHO) and it is increasing the risk of cancer (UN News).
When it's time to eat and don't want to spend an hour cooking, we all search for convenience food...
... Unfortunately convenience food is globally unhealthy food, and unhealthy food is just sick food.
No magic.
If we want to bring delicious & healthy food on the table, supporting our body & mind, and the one of our family, we need to get back to cook from raw natural ingredients.
Our Inspiration became a vision: making every household a blue zone.
Our greatest inspiration comes from the "Blue Zones": rare regions in the world where people live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. Places like Okinawa, Sardinia, Ikaria, and Nicoya are places where lots of centenarians are living. There, becoming a centenarian is normal.
In a Blue Zones, longevity is not a secret — it’s a lifestyle:
- Meals are plant-forward: beans, vegetables, nuts, olive oil. Meat is a treat.
- Eating is mindful: they stop at 80% full, savor every bite, and share meals with loved ones.
- Movement is natural: walking, gardening, and daily chores keep bodies strong.
- Social connection and a sense of purpose are central.
Science shows that these patterns can reduce chronic disease risk by up to 80%, lower heart disease by 40%, and add 7–10 years to life (BlueZonesHealth.com).
I remember my first Blue Zone-inspired experiment: the traditional Sardinian Minestrone Soup full of vegetables. My son devoured it with a grin. (recipe here)
Every dish we suggest in our menus carries this philosophy: meals that nourish the body, delight the senses, and support a longer, happier life.
To learn more about the Blue Zones I would like to invite you to watch the Netflix documentary about it, titled: "Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones".
